Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) – update
Three new executives and four new Non-Executive Members have been appointed to the Coventry and Warwickshire ICB. The successful candidates bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to their new roles.
We are continuing to bring together an executive team which is committed to working together to ensure our services are high quality and meeting the priorities of our communities. Our new appointments to our Integrated Care Board are Madi Parmar as Chief Finance Officer, Dr Angela Brady as Chief Medical Officer and Tracy Pilcher as Chief Nursing Officer. Accelerating patient access to their GP-held records
General practices were previously informed that from April there will be system changes for all practices using TPP and EMIS systems to provide all patients with easy access to their future health records. GPs will be informed of the go-live date (now expected summer 2022) with two months’ notice and provided with resources to support preparations.
Educational sessions have been held to support staff with this change. Over 40% of practices have already attended at least one webinar, with further places available throughout May and June.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Self Referral form
South Warwickshire Foundation NHS Trust have updated the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Self Referral form and this will improve how the form can be completed and submitted to the Therapies Department, this change took place on Tuesday 10 May 2022. The form is now fully electronic and once completed, can be submitted directly back to the team, with no need to email or post the referral form. The form can be accessed by clicking here this gives you the referral criteria and the access to complete the form. We have attached a poster should you wish to display this within your surgery. For any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Therapies@swft.nhs.uk.

Primary Care Campaign materials for practices to display
As you may be aware, Coventry and Warwickshire CCG has launched a public information campaign to help local people understand how their GP practice works, what types of appointments are on offer and what kind of healthcare professionals work there.
The campaign aims to support patients by informing them about what the primary care offer is, the benefits of multi-disciplinary team (MDT) working and that they may not always see their GP. Click here to read more and view the campaign materials.

General Practice Event
Thursday 19 May 2022, 6pm to 9pm
the event is aimed at trainees and newly qualified GPs to help them understand the opportunities and support available to them as they embark on their career in general practice. It is being held on Thursday 19 May from 6 to 9pm and has been developed in partnership with NHS England, Health Education England, the GMC and RCGP. Organised Visit to Leamington and Warwick Gurdwara
Friday 20 May, 12pm to 2pm

Shingles Vaccination
There have recently been two separate incidents where patients were incorrectly administrated the live shingles vaccine (Zostavax) despite being on biologic treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and therefore contra-indicated. It should have been Shingrix as a two dose schedule. If clinicians are in doubt please discuss with the patients specialist. Please see Shingles Toolkit Here.

General Practice/111 Signposting Survey
NHS England and NHS Improvement want your views on how patients who are currently signposted to their GP should be directed. This will allow them to explore how to better streamline the system to work for both yourselves and patients.
The survey can be accessed here and should tke no longer that 10-15 minutes to scomplete. The survey is anonymous and will clsoe on 1 June 2022 If you have any questions about the content or wish to discuss the issue in greater depth then please do contact england.uectransformation.midlands@nhs.net.
Primary Care BAME Women Sponsorship Programme letter
The Primary Care BAME Women Sponsorship Programme letter is endorsed by the Regional Director. The purpose of the letter is to inform ICSs about the Primary Care BAME Women Sponsorship Programme and ask you for your active support.
Programme Outcomes:
- Tackle issues raised in the Race and Staff Survey and WRES. ICSs have committed to address equitable representation in leadership positions.
- Develop the career and leadership potential, retention and progression of Primary Care BAME women, who are under-represented in leadership roles.
- Address population health inequalities by ensuring diversity in decision-making roles.
- Build a more diverse and inclusive workforce in which contributions from all staff members are valued, which is directly linked to good patient care.
