The NHS in Warwickshire and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are availble to the public as normal.

Like the common cold, coronavirus usually occurs through close contact with a person with novel coronavirus via cough and sneezes or hand contact. A person can also be infected by touching contaminated surfaces if they do not wash their hands.

Patients can be reassured that their safety is a top priority, and we will be triaging all appointments to help keep the spread of viruses to a minimum.

The goverment advises that anyone with a new persistent coughand/or fever should self-isolate for 7 days; do not call 111 or contact other healthcare providers.

If sysmptoms deteriorate and they feel they need medical care, they should contact NHS 111.

You can find the lastest information and advice from Public Health England at www.gov.uk/coronavirus

We are offering patients more Video Consultations, Telephones Appointments and Online Consultations while this is ongoing.
